Readers please read both reports by BBC and Voice of America above. Please
let us know how you feel about the methods of reporting by both government
sponsored Online News.
Bear in mind, this election, by the time you read both media, may still be
in progress. Our job here is to alert our readers to subliminal foreign
biases!
The outcome according to some Western circles are already determined. This
gives the MDC its after election reasons for non-cooperation with the
winners. We know in the sponsoring foreign countries, the losers, even
when they do not agree with the election outcome, go along with what could
sometimes be called an open rape and onslaught on democracy. Remember the
Democrats claimed that Ohio Secretary of States skewed the election in
favor of Bush. They further claimed this was done by denying the minority
voters in the inner cities enough ballot materials whereas the Bush voters
in the rural areas got all the materials needed to vote. Voters
registration were said to be manipulated in Nevada, Colorado and some
other places. Since the election, Bush and Kerry have made joint public
appearance. We hope the Western press will let the losers in the coming
Zimbabwe election know that this is the way their own democracy works.
Zimbabwe voters are made up of urban and rural voters. It is unclear to
us, given the demography, how anybody can tell who wins this election
until the results are announced. When they are announced, the outcome will
be disputed as it was in Florida and Ohio. This is the nature of democracy
and man. MDC has most of its supports in cities while ZANU-PF dominates
all or most rural areas. We are all for clean democracy, may the true
winners who represent true Zimbabwean aspiration emerge
The West, we thought should have worked with Mugabe in a
non-confrontational way in order to make any desired change rather than
this "our way or no way" approach. After all, when it suits them, they
counsel this approach as they did during the time of Ian Smith and
apartheid South Africa. During those periods, we constantly heard that
sanctions would hurt those (blacks) they meant to help! Most people think
current Western position on Zimbabwe is dictated by their DESIRE TO
protect their kinsmen. IT IS ON THIS GROUND THEY SEEM NOT TO ATTRACT
SYMPATHIES FROM BLACK AFRICA. Ian Smith and apartheid are still fresh in
black African minds
