Terri Shiavo is dead

"For better for worse, in sickness and in health, till death do us
part" This is the way all Christians know it. A new chapter is written in
Florida, Terri Schiavo died on Thursday at 9:05 AM EST. As if this is not
sad enough, none of the commentators in the media pursue the fact that
Michael Schiavo had it both ways.
Terri was brought up a catholic, loved her husband, trusted her husband,
subscribed to the biblical quotes above, however her "loving" husband has
a common law wife with two children while death had yet to do him and
Terri part. What is wrong with this world and our quickly fading moral
lives?
As part of Michael's love for his catholic wife, Terri will be cremated by
her "caring" husband against catholic doctrine, and the only sin of Terri
Schiavo is that she married her sweetheart. Of course, Michael is Terri's
trusted half husband and guardian who knew Terri's mind even in pervasive
vegetative state, depending on which neurosurgeon you listen to.
We do not understand Michael's convoluted thinking, but we had prayed so
much while Terri was still with us, that by a miracle, she would wake up
so that she could confront Michael on how he was going to legally handle
his now multiplied family of bigamists. Michael has a right to go on with
his life but does not have the right to simultaneously violate the laws of
God and Caesar. The law of God is as quoted above, and the law of Florida
as an integral part of Caesar's law forbids bigamy. The guy Michael is
very sleek, he was able to make all of us forget the egregious part of his
actions. He went away proclaiming his love for Terri. He puts the brother
of his common law family Mr. Centonze on
the Television to tell us about Terri's last minutes, adding insult to
injury Is there any conscience left any where?
As far as we know and at best, Michael diluted his love and faithfulness,
for when things turn worse for Terri, he got himself a new common law
wife. In sickness, Michael was there for a while, but took off with
another woman without allowing death to do him and Terri part! His new
common law brother-in-law Mr. Centonze
proclaimed his sister
Jodie Centonze, Michael's common law wife,
was so sad when she had about her husband's wife's demise! uh huh!! See
how circumlocutous those words sound? That is because we are in a new era
that will lead us to the end of days We all have different standards in
navigating our ways through this torturous life, we must not allow our
being to be manipulated.
Terri will be cremated in Florida, and her remains buried in Pennsylvania,
and her parents are not allowed any benefit of peace, even in their
daughter's death. By this cremation, the evidence is permanently destroyed
- though autopsy will be performed before cremation. In case there is an
advance in genetic research which can open up more evidence than is now
practicable in future, with this cremation, we will never know Terri's
true mind about her half husband's bigamy. Of course if this woman were to
be able to talk for herself, we doubt if she would still love a husband
who is also another woman's husband, While this is allowed in the Muslim
world and some non-Christian section of our Nigerian community, however,
the laws of the United States specifically forbid bigamy. So you may ask,
how is this law applied in this case? Sorry, no one ever talked about it
as the major sin, not even in the courts. This question, by the skillful
maneuver of Michael's lawyer was framed in away that did not dwell on the
issue of bigamy.
The issue was Michael the husband and the guardian who wanted to stop his
wife's feeding tube thereby ending her suffering. One would think, through
bigamy, he forfeits the right to be called her husband and guardian. The
Schindler family's spiritual advisors were all blinded into talking only
the lesser issues that led nowhere.
So long Terri Schiavo, a courageous lady whose only sin was her
association with her half husband.
Why are we so concerned at the NigerianNews?
- Because we are all children of the Almighty father, living in the same
big Island. We can only hope this is never repeated anywhere again,
especially in Nigeria. We also learn a lesson that all that glitters are
not gold. So, we need to be careful in what we copy.
