South East Governor and dwindling education system in the Zone

Dear Editor

The over stretched impasse between the governors of South East Zone and their ASSU counterpart over the industrial action is a joke heading for a nonsensical level. There appears to be no end in sight to the on going face off between the two parties.. It is indeed ridiculous that the governors who are suppose to be fathers in their respective states have turned themselves into tormentors. They have failed to realize that they would not be remembered for what they destroyed but what they built. Students careers are gradually being jeopardized and academic calendar thwarted.

The reason the South East governors had allowed the university strike to linger for so long is because all their children school abroad; but I want to use this medium to remind them that children not educated would also be threat to the few that are privileged. Moreso, it will not be out of place if one alleges that their purpose for refusal to attend to the needs of the South East state Universities is to recruit the students as political thugs to do their dirty jobs but I urge Nigerian students not to sell their birthright to these greedy politicians.

Additionally, it has become clear that their only interest is to seek ways to manipulate the system and fraudulently secure their second tenure to continue to deceive people. I want to use this medium to remind the so called governors to desist from evil and remember that there is a God in heaven who rewards everybody according to his deeds. It is immoral for them to still keep these young brains idle. As an axiom says that an idle mind is the devils workshop. No wonder the increase in kidnapping and other nefarious activities are in the increase in South East zone.

I passionately appeal to the students in the South East state universities to abstain from sin and cry unto God in prayers for He hears the cries of the naïve.
