Dear Editor,

comments on nigeria state

i am a nigerian currently living in the US and each day news seen on the home front is very discouraging and embarrasing this now makes it seem that the country leaders have failed us once again .I am wondering what the news media is doing to help in giving out the truth about the political situation as the election is right by the corner. Are we going to let these greedy and selfish bastards continue to parade themselves as politicians to scam us again.

Dear Editors,

Notes: To Nigeriannews.com Editors

We would like you to inform you, as one of Nigeria's best online news website that The Movement For Donald Duke For President (MDDP) has setup a website that can collect and compose a list of names globally, for all those in support of Donald Duke for president. The site can be found at http://www.duke4president.org/.

MDDP is an independent Chicago Based Organization founded to sensitize the American public about leadership affairs in Nigeria, in the run up to the 2007 presidential elections and the need for a credible presidential candidate. It is our belief that Donald Duke is that candidate that would move Nigeria forward in the coming years.

We would like all those who work in nigeriannews.com who support his election bid as the PDP flag bearer to visit http://www.duke4president.org/. and signup in support. We would greatly appreciate their support.

Daniel Ekong
Director MDDP

Dear Editor,

what about the welfare of the citizens?

I am tired of reading about the corrupt officials of the nation. it has always been the same group of people directly or indirectly keeping the nation in a desperate state. we are tired of seeing and reading about the same people holding the nation in quagmire. who is helping the masses. people need jobs ,shelters and progress. the coup no longer mean anything to the nation. will some one please tell these people to let go of the nation .I am sure there are people who will  serve the nation well  if given the opportunity. I am sick and tired of reading about the same group of people who see the nation as their birth right to hold on too. people are desperate that is why the nation is lawless. no law can control an hungry man.

the nation has been at this mess since 1960. we are an educated nation ,why do we allow greed and corrupt actions destroy this blessed nation. the so called leaders steal money they cannot spend.that is what i still do not understand. there  are many lost funds  all over the world . we should stop glorifying all these corrupt elements in the nation .someone please help the nation. we do not need these so called current leaders of the nation. they are not helping the poor people at all. who is looking out for the masses.?what is the govt doing for the masses .all i read about is politics who is looking out for the masses.? WHO? ELIZABETH MARTIN (FORMERLY AROWOLO- assistant editor of the then daily times of Nigeria) now resides in America.

Dear Sir,

HARASSEMENT OF ROAD USERS BY THE AREA BOYS.

The incessant harassment of road users by the so-call Area boys in Lagos is far becoming a thorn on the flesh of commuters and road users alike. The nefarious activities of these hoodlums are however rampant on the Eko bridge, within the axis of Ijora Olopa and Agbogbon. On Tuesday 5th December, 2006, a road users in his private car was harassed solely because he was asked to give them some money due to the fact that his car broke down on the bridge. This event led this Gentleman been injured because he could not afford to give them any money. These Area boys activities is becoming more worrisome by the day. I therefore use this medium to call on appropriate authority to find a lasting solution to this quagmire.

Thanks for usual cooperation,

LAWAL OLUWAFEMI,
COURT OF APPEAL,
LAGOS
