Police investigations, which have
so far involved the questioning of hotel staffs and the late
Commissioner’s driver have worked traces leading to the doorsteps
of friends and female acquaintances with active roles in the
content of the Commissioner’s leisure time activities. Suspects
eventually ended up being narrowed down to just one person, who is
presently being held in police custody.
Edo State: Lady suspect nabbed by Police in dead Commissioner’s
case!!! Written by Frisky Larr
A lady
suspected of spending the last night with the deceased
Commissioner of Information of Edo State Calus Enoma has been
caught by police following several days of investigations into the
sudden death of the Commissioner two weeks ago. The lady, whose
identity is yet to be disclosed is supposedly nabbed by the police
about two days ago in the aftermath of extensive investigations.
Informal disclosures from the Press Center of the State Police
headquarters have revealed that the force headquarters has now
taken over investigations from the local Police Command.
It will be recalled
that Commissioner Calus Enoma was last seen alive by staffs of the
Palm Royal Hotel in Benin City at about 22:00 hrs on Friday the 28th
of March 2008. Shortly after discharging his official driver from
duties for the day and swapping the number plates of his car for
less conspicuous ones to facilitate an easy blend into society
unnoticed, the late Commissioner had checked into the luxury hotel
in a manner that was reported to be in line with previous
patterns. Two days later, a spokesman for the government had
raised alarm about the missing Commissioner and set the opposition
AC party of Comrade Oshiomole an ultimatum to produce the
Commissioner alive. A position that the government has long
retracted and apologized for! One day later however, staffs of the
Palm Royal Hotel announced finding the naked body of the
Commissioner in a room booked by him two days before. This
prompted strong speculations that Calus Enoma may have been in the
company of a lady for some pleasant leisure sessions.
Police investigations,
which have so far involved the questioning of hotel staffs and the
late Commissioner’s driver have worked traces leading to the
doorsteps of friends and female acquaintances with active roles in
the content of the Commissioner’s leisure time activities.
Suspects eventually ended up being narrowed down to just one
person, who is presently being held in police custody.
Meanwhile, buzzing
rumors have strongly subsided and paved way for another assessment
contending that the late Commissioner may have died of natural
causes. Indications from Hotel sources point to the fact that the
Commissioner may have slumped suddenly prompting the female
acquaintance to flee the scene in shock and awe, fearing the undue
and complicated consequences of police investigations.
NigerianNews has
reported several findings sequel to concrete and specific facts
highlighted in rumormongering. Information had pointed to the
aired commentary of a state broadcaster on a recent political
judgment in the state that drew the wrath of the state government
prompting the suspension of the broadcaster by the late
Commissioner. NigerianNews has attempted to corroborate
information at its disposal by contacting the government of the
state by Email and has so far, received no response.
While investigations
remain on course, the State Police has promised to hold a press
conference anytime soon!
